Other processes for snow white T.I.E
We created a google slides where we continuously added certain things relating to the preparation of our performance so we had made a slide for the sound effects needed for each scene which was:We created this list of sound effects to create an ambience and an atmosphere during the performance and to allow the audience to understand the setting of the scene merely through the sound effects without having a proper set. At first we had thunder for the evil queen introduction but then we found a more suitable clip which was more scary and mystical which was played each time the evil witch came out. Towards the end we also found the magical harp sound for the FRIENDS acrostic poem. Another slide than we had on our google slides was for the props, which was also an on-going process to keep track of what we already had and what we still needed. Once we had acquired the props on the list we would tick them off. A number of our props were taken from our high school resources and teachers like the couch and buzzers, while most were taken from the primary resources like the small bed, tree, mushroom, shield, table, old lady can and fence. I had a few responsibilities for the props which consisted of making the wheel for the game show scene, and printing out a brick and fire layout for the chimney, and I also made the belts for the dwarfs. Since we did not use a script most of our lessons consisted of us devising different scenes here and there and then perfecting the scenes in other lessons, we also used a full lesson to practice the characterisation of our voices for our characters. We did this by each saying a line for all of the characters and helping each other out to improve our own characters voices. I recorded myself saying 'what are you peasants doing in my castle' as the evil queen and so did my classmates and we compared the voices and deciphered their methods of doing the voice to improve mine. I then realized that I needed to have a higher, louder and more cracked voice to make me sound like a evil witch. By incorporating the scattering of letters in our performance, we came up with the idea to create two posters, one for each class, stating the friends acrostic poem so that they could stick up in their classes and never forget the lesson we taught them, and to always refer to it when dealing with one another as friends.
Well done, you have clearly demonstrated the process of creation that you and the group went through and how the ideas evolved over time. There is a strong consideration of drama mediums such as costumes and props, and it is clear that you had to collaborate but take on individual roles and responsibilities as well. The genre of performance and target audience considerations permeate your creative development and that is why your final piece was a great success. Excellent; this experience will really help you with your final 'collaborative project' exam task.
